I hope you are all feeling the joys of Spring slowly creeping into our lives and gardens. This is the time of year when I look forward to planning for the year ahead, including having a pretty garden to inspire my writing and artwork for my new releases.
Presently I would like to bring you up to date with what has been happening since the last blog in January. I should learn to put some time aside every month as my blogging can be very scarce. When I put pen to paper (so to speak) it is usually to write down ideas for song titles or lyrics and blogging isn't something which I instantly think of. I shall in future make a conscious effort to write more blogs.
Pledge Music - well we did it! We had a goal and we beat it! It was touch and go towards the end, thankfully lovely people on Twitter came to the rescue by retweeting as the pledging was at 99%, it was so exciting to watch the pledging for the album and goodies available. Then we hit the 100% mark, only to then hit 103%!
To my Pledgers - I would like to say a HUGE thank you, it was certainly a fun experience. All items should be in your hands now, and I hope you are enjoying what you pledged for.
A special thank you for the lovely messages received from you too, I cannot put into words how much your support means to me.
On a more serious note, you have made a difference with your pledges, not only to me as you are helping an artist to carry on with her writing but to many lives across the world whom are in need of our support and care.
I would like to personally thank Andy McCluskey for helping too. He kindly posted onto his Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark Facebook asking for his fans to help and support this album to raise funds for the families in need. I'm not sure if he reads my blogs, I am eternally grateful for his support of my projects and my many messages I send when I am feeling a little shall we say stressed. He is a very calming influence, something that I need in my life. I will however thank him personally with a huge squeeze when I see him very soon xxxx
War Torn - For those who didn't get the chance to buy a hard copy of this album, you can download it from the 19th March. It is available to pre-order now on iTunes and Amazon, along with many other stores (please check your favourite store, if it isn't there please let me know) It will also be available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music and many other streaming sites too.
If you visit my website there are direct links.
I am riding on a huge roller coaster at the moment with this album, from visualising the concept to writing the album and now with the amazing feedback which is coming in.
The Electricity Club - I am overwhelmed by the fabulous support by this magazine, the review of War Torn is more than I had ever hoped. I shall allow their words to speak for the album. Huge thanks to Paul B for this awesome read.
If I hadn't have written this album I would certainly be intrigued to check it out!
You can read the review - here
The Electronic Sound Magazine - A review of War Torn is in the next hard copy issue of this magazine, I haven't read it yet so fingers crossed they love it too.
It should be in our UK shops this Thursday (8th March).
Video - Due to the unforeseen 'big freeze' the video for Ceasefire has been postponed. It was scheduled to be shot in February. It is an outside shoot so we are going to re-schedule when the weather is a little warmer, possibly late March.
Armchair Generals - This song helped to launch the album with it being the first single release in November 2017, along with another track which was especially written for this release called No Justice. You can still purchase this single release from iTunes, Amazon etc now.
No Justice has a video too, which was kindly shot by O-Ten.
If you have added yourself to my mailing list either via my website or Reverbnation then you will very soon receive the itinerary for 2018, including a new album release, two re-releases and dare I say there could be a Christmas song re-released too. This is going to be a very busy year for SGC, so I better get the first flyer created and out to you wonderful peeps this week.

Happy New Year, I hope this year brings you everything you've dreamed of. Sending love and happiness to you xxx
So it's another year and another opportunity to work very hard to achieve everything which She's Got Claws has been working towards over the past few years.
Firstly there is Pledge Music and my pledge page, where you can pledge for many items including a signed copy of WAR TORN which you will receive one month before it is officially released.
You can pledge for the DEMOS to all the songs on WAR TORN along with a couple of tracks which didn't make it plus an exclusive version of NO JUSTICE which isn't available online. There are 14 tracks in total on the DEMO CD so it is worth pledging for. There are only a few left and when they are gone there will be no more CDs.
Also on Pledge Music you can get your hands on an exclusive hard copy of ARMCHAIR GENERALS / NO JUSTICE single. There are only 14 left and the pledging for these begin at £5.00 each. NO JUSTICE is not available on the WAR TORN album.
By pledging you are helping to create more new music and you are supporting new artists as they build up their catalogues for you to enjoy.
Pledging will end 19th February 2018, so there is only one month left to place your order for the goodies available.

WAR TORN is to be released officially as a download from 19th March 2018 on iTunes, Amazon, streamed from Spotify and Apple Music, along with many other stores and streaming sites across the world. Direct links will be on SGC's website in March. For more details and to listen to a preview of the album please go to SGC HOME.
A video for the launch of WAR TORN will be shot on location in February for the song CEASEFIRE. Hypnotic tribal drums, ethereal strings and poignant lyrics tell the story of finding yourself walking through the dust and debris of your once beautiful city. Video is to be shot by O-TEN.
Press including features, interviews and reviews of WAR TORN will be featured on many magazines across the world from March. With thanks to MECHANICAL PR for all their hard work.
This is a brief insight into the plans for SGC for the first three months of 2018. After this there will be an instrumental album available after Easter, Synthetic Emotion is to be re-released online and in Autumn a new EP and did someone mention a Christmas song? lol this may also happen.
For updates on the above please keep checking out my website's HOME page.
Bye for now xxx
WAR TORN - 19th March 2018 (19th February on Pledge Music) PRS Registered.
Here is a look at some of the early press which has come in so far for the single release (Armchair Generals / No Justice), including my first front cover including a 2 page spread inside!
These magazines were circulated to over 70,000 households across the East of Yorkshire (UK). I have in my possession the very last copies of this magazine, if you would like one they will be available to pledge for on my Pledge Music page, pledging will start at £5.00 each and money will be going to UNICEF to help the children fighting to survive in war torn countries, so it's for a very good cause too. I shall personally sign each copy too as a special thank you.
Brutal Resonance were the first to announce the release of my single, so a huge thank you to this online magazine. Many bloggers are now writing their reviews now as well as many other magazines, so it is a very exciting time for She's Got Claws!
Mechanical PR, whom are handling the promotion of my single and album, were contacted by Curve Magazine in New York and their sister magazine LOTL in Australia asking for more details about She's Got Claws. These magazines have now done an awesome piece on SGC, so a huge thank you to the guys there too.
These are just a few examples of the reviews which are coming in thick and fast now. Many more to be added very soon.
I shall keep adding to the She's Got Claws Press Page as the reviews and interviews come in.
My PR company would also like to give a shout out to the DJs among you too. If you work at a club and would like a hard copy, please contact Mechanical PR with your details and which club you perform at and they shall send you an exclusive hard copy via the clubs address. These hard copies are being used for promotional purposes only. Radio stations can ask for a copy too.
Here is a link below to one of the songs from my single release. No Justice is not available on the album 'War Torn'.

I would like to announce 'Armchair Generals' is to be the first single (taken from my forthcoming album War Torn) to be released on 30th November. Available to download from many sites including iTunes & Amazon, also streaming from Apple Music and Spotify. (Check your favourite download and streaming site).
Here is a preview of the single artwork:
I have created the artwork as a TV screen which is rolling and is having trouble which to me represents the confusing way the news is told on our screens, especially when it comes to war and how they want to encourage more anger towards the victims of war than the governments who wage war for profit.
In my opinion the news seeks consent from us so our governments can earn more profit through selling arms and their many attempts of trying to claim land.
This screen, like our news, is all blurred and wants to confuse us to the point where we switch off the TV or become so angry that we do not see any transparency and any greedy agendas.
The children on the artwork live in Syria. Please try to explain to them why their home is no longer there and why their family is no longer alive. Their tears may turn to anger and then the vicious circle will never be broken, but then that is what governments want?
I do apologise for the rant, it is something that I feel so strongly about, as it is so heartbreaking to see families being put through this. I'm sure we wouldn't want this to happen to us, so we need to find a way to help in any way we can to raise awareness of the true devastation and cruel decisions governments make.
My second album release is War Torn. You can pledge for this where a percentage will go to UNICEF to help these children in war torn countries.
The single, Armchair Generals, is a double A side to another song called No Justice, which is not available on the album.
I hope I can count on your support in releasing this single and album.
Warmest Regards to you,
She's Got Claws xx

Hi, I would like to announce that I'm going to release the first track off my new album in November 2017. The single is called Armchair Generals. The actual date in November will be announced very shortly. This will be available on iTunes, Spotify and everywhere you could possibly think of online. It is a download single only.
The album however will be available as a download and as a hardcopy in early 2018.
Armchair Generals is about how there are people who have become so judgemental over the lives of families who are crying for help as they flee from their war torn countries. It is a song pointing the finger back at these generals as they sit in front of their TV screens eating their dinner and ranting. I hope one day it is not the general who becomes the victim of these wars, as I'm sure he/she would be the first to cry for help to survive.
The song is very punchy and punky with a fractured dance beat, a menacing bass riff and infectious vocal hooks. I have introduced an instrument to my collection of sounds called the Cimbalom which in my opinion is very underrated. The cimbalom was used for many British spy movies and TV shows in the 1960s and 70s, such as The Ipcress File (Michael Caine), The Persuaders (Roger Moore), most of the soundtracks for these movies and shows were composed by John Barry whom was a genius in my opinion. The Numbers Station which is a more recent movie starring John Cusack also used a cimbalom, this film has the most stunning soundtrack, so moody and intriguing. The cimbalom is naturally a spy sound, full of intrigue and suspense..
Armchair Generals is to be the first track released from my album War Torn. I shall keep my blog updated with release dates and reviews.
Thank you for reading my blog. Please leave a comment below.

The new album War Torn is now complete, along with the artwork which is about to be printed out as a 4 sided card CD. The front cover has been revealed on Facebook so here it is below too:
It is a photo taken by O-Ten Photography of She's Got Claws (me) and a war torn city projected onto my hand with a child running for his life. This gives you the feel of what this new electronic album is all about and how we look at these horrifying scenes on our screens with one eye closed.
Writing an album is all about expressing how you feel about many perspectives of a subject which you feel strongly about, and this subject of war and the devastation it causes to the families caught up in the middle of political feuds is something which I feel I cannot ignore. I sob my heart out over these human beings and fatalities and how cruel the media are towards these desperate families who are looking for refuge and safety from the barrel bombings. It is so heart breaking. I truly hope that you feel for them too and hope that if this happens to you, you will know that there are people out there who actually care about you and want to help in any way they can.
The only difference between us and them is that we are the lucky ones.
War Torn is expected to have a release date in Autumn 2017. Nothing as yet is confirmed, as there is still lots of work to do to launch this album and to get main parties involved to get this vital message across.
She's Got Claws ...X
Just wanted to let you know that my new album is in the making!
It should be released later this year or early 2017.
A few songs are ready to master and the rest are demoed. There should be 7 tracks in total, although it could end up being a complete album instead of a mini album. I shall keep you posted.
What I do know is that this album is called War Torn. The political climate is my muse for writing this album, hence the title. There are songs about war, hate and a humanitarian cry to make a change to our political ways.
Also She's Got Claws' website is about to be given a completely new design with a new image to reflect the album.
In the meantime, there are 15 new instrumental tracks to listen to on The Electronic Music Library's website.
Direct Link to my EML album: http://hrvst.co/bnbzg
If this link does not work for you, go to Electronic Music Library's website and click onto the album called 'Euro Electronic 1'.
I wrote these for TV, films and multi-media. My personal favourites are Listen To Me, Lithium and Smoking Gun. Please let me know which ones are your faves.
Bye for now,
She's Got Claws xx
Please note: All songs on EML's website are under strict copyright.
Above is July's Newsletter. The links on the newsletter are not active as the pdf had to be converted to a Jpeg to upload to my blog.
Any problems seeing this image, you can contact me via my website and I shall send you the pdf.
Have a great weekend,
She's Got Claws xxxx
I would like to thank everybody who has purchased either my debut album or my EP online in the past few years, I cannot express to you how much I appreciate your support.
It is very hard in a highly competitive industry to be heard, so your support has encouraged me to keep writing and will do so in the future.
From today, however, both releases are no longer available to download.
The good news is that I am about to finish my new album, which I hope to release later on this year. I am still thinking about releasing this album only as a hard copy which you can purchase directly from my website exclusively.
There will be clips of each track available for you to listen to on She's Got Claws website and Soundcloud, so you know what you are buying before you purchase the CD hard copy with artwork.
I hope I can still count on your support. There will be a brand new look for the website to coincide with the release and you will be the first to see the artwork for the album when you pop along to take a peak at SGC's website.
The next newsletter will be sent to you in June 2016. So if you are not a member of the mailing list, then please follow this link (Newsletter) to keep up to date with events and news of this release first.
Thanks again for your support, more news to follow shortly ;)
