About
MICCI (Mickey)
BBC Radio (BBC Introducing) is a huge supporter of SGC and we both thank them for their belief in our music.
Influences ... A broad spectrum of musical taste, from the beautiful songs and soundscapes created by the French band AIR, the uplifting dance vibes of Goldfrapp, to the edgy electronic attitude of Gary Numan. St Vincent and P J Harvey have inspired me to look beyond the traditional realms of music and to experiment and push boundaries, something that is to be truly admired. I love many electro rock artists who love to experiment and incorporate electronics within their sound, such as The Killers, Kasabian, The Kills and The Wombats. Hi, I'm Micci .. and I love to produce, program, play keys and engineer songs in my UK based studios in Yorkshire.
I love to create electro beats with very memorable synth hooks. I'm inspired to write lyrics and perform vocals to these electronic based tracks, with Chris now adding his bass guitar over the top to create a much edgier sound. Bass and vocals are now the main instruments. Music has always been my life and driving force. I began a Degree in Music Production at the The Hull College in the 00s, I didn't complete this because I was more interested and driven by my previous band and performing up and down the UK, instead of writing countless essays... I like to do and not to write about it. I am very inspired with bands like The Killers: Brandon is so inspiring when he performs with his amazing vocals, his stage presence and synth playing. This is where my heart is. Presently, we are in the middle of completing our latest album, Everything Ends To Begin. This album of 9 tracks is a turning point for us, taking us into the realms of electro rock whilst keeping the core sound of She's Got Claws, which is primarily electronic. I do love to collaborate with other artists and enjoyed collaborating with an Australian artist with his cover song EP, where I sang I Die: You Die (Gary Numan) and 88 Seconds in Greensboro (OMD). We released an album in 2020 called Doppelgänger. This has overdriven bass, huge beats and synths with attitude. Andy McCluskey (OMD) produced 2 songs on this album and his nephew, Cameron McCluskey, created a remix for the track, Musik, as the bonus track. It was a fabulous experience. "A one woman electronic powerhouse, refining her musical urges to the classic Numan/Foxx/ League and Ultravox era" - Electronic Sound Magazine |
"I know SGC is about to set the electronic music scene alight, Claws and talent, wild cats to be reckoned with for sure!"

CHRIS
Hi, I'm Chris, the bass player and co-writer in She's Got Claws. I co-produced many of the tracks on Doppelgänger and the 9 Lives remix album. Micci calls me an ideas man because my head is often full of many creative approaches. She understands my visions and this is why we make such a great team. The bass guitar is now the main instrument to SGC's sound. It's loads of fun to perform with Micci live and I'm so pleased with how she produces my bass within the songs, giving it an edge and attitude. In 2023, we began to write new material for our forthcoming album, Everything Ends To Begin. I've written the words to Monsters From The ID and You Were Never Here. Writing words is usually Micci's domain, so this is one of the many curveballs on this album. Also, I'm singing backing on a few songs and singing live when we perform. |
Influences ... I love Ladytron for their electronics, The Kills for their raw edgy sound which is so refreshing to hear, The Wombats for his great songwriting and lyrics and Goldfrapp for their upbeat electro sound. I do have many bass heroes, however I never try to emulate anyone and always try to be as unique as possible. |
